Does Water Really Help to Lose Weight?
By admin on Mar 18, 2009 in Uncategorized
It is hard to overestimate the role of water for our health. Water helps to detoxify the body, eliminate the water retention, help to burn fat; it is a necessary substance for all the cellular processes. If we don’t take enough water it is taken from blood because all the important bodily functions need water. Even if you don’t need to lose weight you need to have an adequate intake of water to ensure good health.
Water also helps to satisfy hunger. This will decrease your food intake during the day and help you achieve your weight loss goal.
Many times when we feel hungry, all we need is a glass of water. This happens because it is easy to mix the thirst with hunger.
Drinking 8-10 glasses of water throughout the day is an important habit to develop. Keep a water bottle with you at all times and sip out of it every 15-20 minutes even if you don’t feel like drinking. You used to suppress your thirst with eating so many times that it became hard for you to differentiate thirst from hunger. If you force yourself to drink throughout the day you’ll be able to recognize when you are really thirsty and when you need to eat.
By satisfying your thirst with water you will consume less sweetened juices or colas full of sugar or artificial sweeteners.
Try to drink water first thing in the morning or drink a hot water with a slice of lemon. This will hydrate your body and fill you up so you will make better breakfast choices.
